Applications Of Solar Lights

Solar lights are usually powered with a small array of solar panels that collect and convert solar energy for immediate use.

Lights can be line pathways, motion-sensing security lights or even big flood lights. Solar energy makes these lights pretty much self-sustaining.

Outdoor Solar Lights

Light fixtures, street lights and other outdoor lights are popular in many countries. In most cases, outdoor solar lights are installed with solar chargeable batteries. On the top of each light is a solar photovoltaic panel to charge the batteries when exposed to sunlight. The photovoltaic panel can also be mounted up to 15 feet away for placement where it will receive maximum solar exposure. Energy stored in these batteries will light the bulbs during the dark or on cloudy days.

Solar lights can also be used for indoor lighting. Some manufacturers even offer complete kits for solar indoor lighting in case of emergency or for off-grid applications such as a remote cabin. Home solar kits are also available which include CFL bulb, solar panel and a large capacity battery box.
